**About the Role**
The Market Development Officer will design and implement scalable crop development programs for tomato and other horticultural crops, driving backward integration to secure a reliable flow of premium produce for our Fruits & Vegetables business. Working closely with growers, research teams, and supply‑chain partners, you will ensure that production practices meet quality standards, enhance farmer profitability, and support the company’s growth objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and launch crop development roadmaps for tomato and selected horticultural crops, aligning with market demand and company targets.
- Conduct field trials, gather agronomic data, and translate findings into practical guidelines for growers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmer groups, cooperatives, and extension services to promote adoption of recommended practices.
- Coordinate with procurement, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure consistent supply of high‑quality produce.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and price dynamics to provide actionable insights for business planning.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Agronomy or a related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in crop development, agronomic advisory, or market development within the horticulture sector.
- Proven ability to work with farmer networks and drive adoption of new technologies or practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project‑management skills, with proficiency in MS Office and basic data‑analysis tools.
