Procurement Associate

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Procurement Associate to strengthen our sourcing network and ensure timely procurement of agricultural commodities directly from farmers, traders, FPOs, and mandis. The role requires extensive fieldwork, supplier relationship management, negotiation skills, and market intelligence gathering.

Key Responsibilities
Procure agricultural commodities as per business requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, aggregators, traders, commission agents, and FPOs.
Identify new sourcing opportunities and expand procurement networks.
Negotiate prices, quality parameters, and commercial terms with suppliers.
Conduct regular market visits to monitor arrivals, pricing trends, and competitor activities.
Ensure timely procurement and dispatch of commodities.
Coordinate with quality, logistics, and warehouse teams for smooth operations.
Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and daily procurement reports.
Track market trends and provide actionable insights to the procurement team.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
Graduate/Post Graduate in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field.
0–4 years of experience in agricultural procurement, mandi operations, commodity trading, or agri supply chain.
Freshers with strong agricultural knowledge and willingness for fieldwork may also apply.
Good understanding of agricultural commodities and local markets.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Comfortable with extensive field travel.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and mobile-based reporting tools.
Ability to work independently and achieve procurement targets.
Preferred Experience
Experience in procurement of grains, pulses, spices, oilseeds, or other agri commodities.
Existing network with farmers, traders, mandis, or FPOs will be an added advantage.
