About the Role
We are looking for an Associate Manager – Dairy Operations to manage and strengthen milk procurement operations in Bihar. The role will focus on milk sourcing, farmer engagement, procurement strategy, cold-chain development, supply chain management, vendor coordination, market intelligence and stakeholder management.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to the Dairy Business and Livestock Management, along with the ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with farmers, vendors, government authorities, transporters and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to achieve milk procurement targets across the assigned state.
Manage milk procurement, product costing, supply chain activities and vendor development.
Develop and strengthen cold-chain infrastructure and farmer networks for efficient sourcing of raw milk.
Design and execute Farmer Connect Programmes to improve awareness, farming practices and milk yields.
Establish effective procurement policies to ensure quality products and services are delivered on time and at agreed costs.
Monitor procurement performance and identify deviations against planned targets.
Conduct market research and track competitor activities within the dairy sector.
Monitor production and market scenarios to support accurate forecasting of milk procurement.
Develop robust systems for milk collection, quality assurance and delivery planning.
Monitor procurement-related costs and ensure expenditure remains within approved budgets and industry benchmarks.
Maintain accurate records of milk dispatched and received, transportation costs, billing, transition losses and cost variations.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of procurement and cost-related data within defined timelines.
Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, vendors, transporters and other external stakeholders.
Identify stakeholder requirements and develop sourcing strategies accordingly.
Coordinate with internal business and operations teams to improve efficiency and service levels.
Use technology and data-driven systems to improve procurement processes and supply-chain efficiency.
Identify capability-building requirements within the team and support appropriate learning and development initiatives.
Interface with government authorities and other external organizations connected with the Dairy Business.
Key Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Dairy Business and Livestock Management.
Understanding of Milk Procurement and Dairy Supply Chain Management.
Knowledge of farmer networks, milk collection and cold-chain operations.
